Product model - TST R002 Product type - Moped-style electric bicycle/eBike Wheel/tire size - 20” 4” Motor - 1500W peak rear hub motor Battery - Removable 48V lithium-ion battery Brakes - Front and rear disc brakes Controls - LCD display, pedal assist, and thumb-operated acceleration control The specific product involved in the incident was being operated by me on April 23, 2026, when I experienced unexpected motor acceleration after releasing the brakes.

Incident date: April 23, 2026, approximately 5:25 PM Product: TST R002 Moped-style eBike

On April 23, 2026, I was involved in a traffic collision while riding a TST R002 Moped-style eBike. The collision occurred at approximately [REDACTED], Florida.

The reason I am reporting this incident is an unexpected acceleration behavior that I experienced with the eBike. When the brakes were released, the motor would automatically accelerate as though the acceleration control were fully engaged, even though I was not intentionally applying acceleration.

Immediately before the collision, I was riding on a bicycle path and approaching a bicycle crossing/intersection. I stopped at the stop sign. I was holding the brakes and needed to release them briefly to inch forward so that approaching vehicles could see that a bicyclist was preparing to cross.

I observed a vehicle stopping for me. However, there was another vehicle in front of that vehicle, which I did not notice. When I released the brakes to inch forward, the eBike unexpectedly accelerated forward. I was unable to stop the eBike before it entered the path of the vehicle, resulting in a collision.

I was the person operating the eBike. It was being used for ordinary transportation on a bicycle path and at a designated bicycle crossing.

I sustained an abrasion to my right knee and a sprain of my right knee involving an unspecified ligament. I received an X-ray examination and was sent home with crutches.

I am reporting the incident because the unexpected motor acceleration created a loss-of-control condition. The acceleration occurred when I released the brakes even though I was not intentionally attempting to accelerate. I believe this behavior contributed directly to the collision and resulting injuries.

A law-enforcement crash report was created in connection with the incident.
