  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Oct 23, 2025, sent to the company Nov 12, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2025

The product, in the report: SPECIALIZED Turbo Como 5.0 IGH Model Ebike

SPECIALIZED Ebike Company sold me a Defective Ebike out of 1 of their North Portland Retailers for over $5,000.00 almost 2 yrs ago. I’ve been having small mechanical issues since purchasing this Ebike yet SPECIALIZED just kept ignoring me or brushing me off? Almost 2 months ago the Motor starting having serious grinding & power issues (pedal assist stopped working?) & SPECIALIZED said it just needs a Firmware Update so I took it to [REDACTED] to get this Firmware Update for free. Turns out the Motor is completely Defective so [REDACTED] after arguing with Rider Care finally got SPECIALIZED to send me a New Motor. This Motor was just installed last week & now this New Motor is Defective too? It started making weird noises & even seized up throwing me off this Ebike hitting my head. I’m already Legally Disabled with a rare Brain Disease called Cluster Headaches. Now my Brain is hurting due to falling off & hitting my head? I just texted SPECIALIZED & they refuse to acknowledge they sold me a Lemon Ebike? Can you please help me. Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it.

The product, in the report: 20 inch ebike, black, 700watts motor (20mph up to 28 mph) ___ attached file/image shows/proves relabeled changing manufacturer year to model year (clearly shows original date as 2022 =top left of relabeled 910 “22” = label details are covered) model year remaining 2023 (visible with larger font under relabeling) ***also other details such as assembly/manufacturing is covered*** ____ https://www.specialized.com/us/en/shop/bikes/electric-bikes/electric-hybrid-bikes/globe

(Bicycle@ specialized globe haul = both st and LT versions) myself having the “ST” version. The bicycle controller shuts off suddenly and is near impossible to restart immediately. I used this ebike for commuting. It was used on MAJOR roadways (truck routes. snow emergency routes = multi lane roads in single directions) ___a single time it shutoff on a major roadway [REDACTED] the sudden loss of power slowed/stop bicycle immediately. (TRAFFIC ALL AROUND = accident avoided but potential for being rear-ended) ____ specialized (manufacturer) is aware of the issue since the bicycle was 1st released (multiple people complaining = manufacturer @ just warranty replaced electrical = still 2 years later this event is still happening on completely NEW BIKES) they are hoping these events passes the 30-day return period (forcing consumers to be stuck with purchase safety risks while complying with the 2 years warranty) ____ bicycle itself is not worth the safety risks (their website reviews state the same issue on BOTH ST/LT versions along with blogs and social media repeating the same issues) ___ myself it happened multiple times (1) at night empty roadway but lights not working (2) major roadway during rush hour, using aftermarket lights (3) normal congestion, not during rush hour ____ each time upon pressing power/restart the bike would turn back on. Sometimes powered on but immediately turned back off “seconds later” ____ ***major safety risks*** most bicycle operators don’t ride properly on the roadways ***increasing safety issues***. The few that do are still affected by these problems (manufacturer tool back the bike and provided a near full refund = problems still occur per social media)____ bicycle information (less than 160 miles = 10 charge cycles = properly used) ____ ***another issue*** is bicycle is rated at IPx7 (motor itself is IPx7 = but due to weakest/lowest components being the battery it’s IPx4 at the best = safety and fire hazard = charging port is cost secure and covered by a ***flimsy*** silicone flap on side of battery for charging without removal of battery necessary @ it is just water “resistant” not waterproof and highly dependent upon consumers to close/seal which half of the time it won’t fully press back in) ____ (another issue is false advertisement= wrong model years) 91023-8000U with (910 “23” ... Part being model sold = indicated model year being 2023) actual model year for webpages and product received is 2022” being the start of these known issues (products not recalled/fixed and still being sold untouched without these necessary adjustments) _____ major liability issues for the entire line____ bicycle box labeling has been altered (if picked-up in store consumers wouldn’t know details) ___ (both bikes = poor electronics) https://www.specialized.com/us/en/shop/bikes/electric-bikes/electric-hybrid-bikes/globe
