A newly purchased Sohamo electric bike was taken out for a ride around town by my first cousin once removed. Around 5 pm a he called my uncle and said he needed help. The front wheel came off as he was braking down South 7th Street in [REDACTED]. He was desending a steep hill. As he was using the front brake the front wheel came off and rolled down the hill nearly hitting a passing car at the bottom of the hill.

His knee and shoulder had road rash. We decided to take him home and apply first aid. I was able to straighten the fender and get the wheel back on. I rode the bike home slowly. The only prpblem with the bike other than bent items was a broken wheel spoke. I feel hesitant to ride the bikes and havent since the accident.

The electric bikes are made to disassamble quickly so they can be loaded into a vehicle and reassembled when you get to a place you want to ride. The only question, are they constructed without regaurd to their dangerous weakness?
