  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 14, 2025, sent to the company Oct 29, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2025

The product, in the report: Bolt Pro Electric Bike Black

The Jetson e-bike suddenly caught on fire while it was parked and not in use. The bike was stored indoors, following the manufacturers instructions. No one was using the product at the time of the incident. The fire quickly spread to a vacuum cleaner that was positioned next to the bike, causing it to catch on fire as well. The flames and heat caused smoke damage to the roof area of the house. Fortunately, the fire was contained before it spread further, but the situation was extremely dangerous and could have resulted in the house catching on fire and endangering my family. No one was injured, but there was significant property damage and a clear risk of harm. The incident was alarming and created a serious safety hazard.

Model number JBLTP(possibly partially cut off? See sticker photo) SerialRBLTPBLA072302117 We plugged in my daughters Jetson electric bike to charge, started smoking and charred the charger. The bike had been used only 5 times. Given Christmas 2024. Bought directly from RideJetson website. Jetson representative told me bike was old and refurbished as though fire/smoke were acceptable. It could have burned my house down. 2 adults and 4 children were in house at time. We have charged at night in past. This was in the morning. This could have burned our house down. Jetsons response was that they had lost all customer purchase records and that they could not help me. My husband was in the basement at the time this started smoking, my 12-year-old daughter is the primary user, and typically plugs in the bike. This was very dangerous for our whole family.

The product, in the report: Jetson Warren All-Terrain Electric Bike Class II Electric Bike 48V, 750W Costco Item # 1766774 https://www.costco.com/jetson-warren-all-terrain-electric-bike.product.4000209407.html https://ridejetson.com/products/warren-all-terrain-electric-bike According to info on internet: Jetson Electric Bikes, LLC, based in Brooklyn, New York, manufactures Jetson e-bikes. The company was founded in 2011 by [REDACTED]. Jetson is known for developing electric bikes, hoverboards, and skateboards. A post on [REDACTED] mentions that Jetson’s bikes are manufactured by a group of companies in China, trading under the DYU group.

Brake Failure While going down a steep hill near our home, my 14 year old son almost careened into rush hour traffic on [REDACTED] when the brakes failed on his Jetson Warren electric bike. He was eventually able to stop the bike by hitting the street curb with the wheel just a few feet from a busy intersection. This bike has been ridden between 5 - 7 times, and the bike is almost in new condition. In March, we reported a separate safety issue to Jetson regarding this same bike blasting off at a dangerous pace at the slightest touch of the pedals every time the pedal assist engages at low speeds (does not happen at higher speeds), even though the pedal-assist is set to the lowest setting. Upon reading Costco reviews for the Jetson Warren e-bike, I realized others have experienced serious safety issues as well.
