Hurt, no treatment Made Jul 2, 2026, sent to the company Jul 7, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 21, 2026
The product, in the report: Heybike is an adult electric bike. The Ranger 2.0 model where the seat folds up and the battery is under the seat. It is green, weighs roughly 100lbs. The Ranger 2.0, 1400watts model. It has 600w removable battery. All terrain and holds 330lbs.
I purchased a Hey Bike Ranger 2.0 model and the screws fall off the rear wheel randomly. I fell off the bike while riding resulting in roadrash. I replaced the screws and they fall out after every ride. I’ve also tried Locktight and they still fall out. The screws have fallen out three times and non repairable with new screws, as they fall out too. The bike is ridden for leisure and errands. Ridden on regular concrete trails and roads, no off road use. The company doesn’t take it seriously although I’ve explained this can cause a serious injury or death.

Emergency room Made Apr 17, 2026, sent to the company Apr 22, 2026, published by CPSC May 6, 2026
The product, in the report: Heybike Cityscape Electric Bike 350W(Peak 500W) Electric City Cruiser Bicycle Up to 40 Miles Removable Battery, 7-Speed and Dual Shock Absorber, 26” Electric Commuter Bike for Adults
My wife has several times reported instances in which her HeyBike Cityscape (2024) has suddenly and inexplicably accelerated without her touching the throttle.
There have been two instances in which my wife’s HeyBike has injured her. In October 2025, she was riding her HeyBike when it suddenly accelerated as she was turning a corner (without her touching the throttle). She slammed into the sidewalk and was thrown off the bike. In addition to a sprained ankle & road rash, she broke her foot.
Two weeks ago, she turned on her bike and was walking it it through a school yard when it suddenly accelerated (again without her touching the throttle). It severely bruised her legs and hips (welts). Her school recorded CCTV camera footage of the event wherein the bike suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated on its own.
She appreciates her bike, but not to the point where it will cause her serious injury. We purchased the HeyBike on July 2024. The model is as follows:

No incident, no one hurt Made Jul 31, 2025, sent to the company Aug 28, 2025, published by CPSC Sep 12, 2025
The product, in the report: The item is a Heybike Tyson which is an electric bike. Its white with blue trimming. Its a foldable e-bike with 55 MI max operating range and 28 MPH max speed.
Im a reporter/producer for a news station in Detroit and I purchased a HeyBike for work purposes. In the process of using the bike, the battery started sparking making it a fire hazard. I reached out to the company and theyve been blowing me off by not retrieving the bike and sending me a new one instead. Instead they made me jump through hoops until my warranty expired and now are only offering a $100 credit for a $1,500 bike.

Emergency room Made Feb 1, 2025, sent to the company Feb 6, 2025, published by CPSC Feb 21, 2025
The product, in the report: Hey Bike ranger 2.0
I purchased a Hey Bike Ranger 2.0 from a third-party seller on Amazon called Jasion Bikes. Hi constructed the bike according to their specific directions. I use the bike for about one week without any issue. I was riding the bike normally as I would any other day when suddenly the front wheel became disengaged causing me to crash. I flew over the handlebars of the bike and crashed into the concrete face first. The accident may have likely been fatal had I not been wearing a full face motorcycle helmet. I sustained a major injury to my left knee and minor injury to my right knee, right elbow, and upper right thigh.
