The product, in the report: EOEOTWO E01 foldable electric bicycle (e-bike), equipped with a 500W motor (1000W peak), 48V 15Ah rechargeable battery, front and rear suspension, and disc brakes. I purchased two of these E01 electric bicycles. Both bicycles have experienced safety-related mechanical issues, particularly involving the braking systems.
I purchased two EOEOTWO E01 electric bicycles. Both bicycles have experienced repeated mechanical and safety-related problems, including serious concerns involving the braking systems. The problems began shortly after purchase and have continued despite attempts to repair the bicycles and replacement parts provided by the seller.
One bicycle experienced brake failure while my brother was riding it. He had to lay the bicycle down to avoid colliding with a vehicle when the brakes did not stop the bicycle properly. The incident caused additional damage to the bicycle. The second bicycle has also experienced repeated brake problems. Other problems have included the chain coming off, front chainring/gear alignment issues, and other component failures.
I have repeatedly contacted the seller regarding these safety concerns and have provided information and video evidence. Replacement parts have been offered or supplied, including brake components, but the safety problems have continued. A person who works on bicycles and has examined/worked on the bikes has also expressed concerns that the bicycles are not safe to ride.
I am reporting these bicycles because I am concerned that the repeated brake and mechanical failures create a serious risk of injury to riders and potentially others. I have stopped relying on the bicycles as safe to operate and believe the safety issues should be investigated.
