The product, in the report: 48V 22 AH Lithium Battery with no name on the battery. It is physically identical to Amazon ‘22.4AH Electric Bike Lithium Battery, Removable Ebike Battery with 3A Charger 48V Electric Bicycle Battery Pack with Waterproof Holder for 250W-2000W Motors Brand: PLXNYLB. This is the battery I bought as a replacement.
I was riding my Philodo H8 AWD electric bicycle which was purchased 10/24/2026. The bike has 1014 miles, it was 90 degrees F ambient temperature and was climbing my fairly steep gravel driveway in the lowest speed range of 1. There was a loud pop type explosion, significant smoke and then fire from the left side of the lithium battery pack. I turned off the main switch on the handlebars and pedaled the bike about 600 feet to our home and carefully extinguished the flames with water, while avoiding getting any water inside the battery itself. The battery has no vendor name but shows an ‘Executive Standard GB/T36972-2018 with a Production Date of 2023/8/29 and a presumed serial number of ZHJXD202308029. This is a 48VDC 22AH battery. A drop-in battery replacement was received today - 7/17/2026, installed and tested for 6.4 miles indicating no functional or electrical issues with the bike.
