The product, in the report: Black and Red Ebike
Dear Walmart Customer Support, I am writing to report a serious safety issue regarding an e-bike that I purchased from Walmart.com under Order #[REDACTED], which was delivered on March 4th. The bike was purchased for my son, [REDACTED], who currently attends [REDACTED] where he plays football. On March 18th, while riding the e-bike, the brakes suddenly failed while he was going down a hill. Because the brakes did not engage, he was unable to slow down or stop the bike. In an attempt to avoid being hit by a car, my son was forced to steer away from traffic and unfortunately crashed into a pole. The bike is now severely damaged, and my son suffered significant injuries. He was evaluated during a medical appointment on March 19, 2026, at [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] Regional Medical Center in [REDACTED]. Following evaluation, he has been diagnosed with a fractured collarbone and continues to experience pain in his neck and shoulder. As a result of his injuries, he is scheduled to undergo surgery on March 25, 2026. His recovery will require him to be out of football for approximately three months, which will significantly impact his athletic participation and football career. This incident is extremely concerning because the apparent mechanical failure of the brakes created a dangerous and hazardous situation that directly resulted in this accident and injury. A product failure of this nature raises serious safety concerns, and I believe this matter requires immediate attention. I am requesting that Walmart initiate a product safety investigation into this e-bike and advise on the next steps regarding the defective product, the damages, and the injuries sustained due to the malfunction. Please contact me as soon as possible so we can discuss this matter further. I can provide photos of the damaged bike, medical documentation, and any additional information needed for your review. Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious matter. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED}
