The product, in the report: CubCadet UTV
This is an email I sent to CubCadet
When the temp is in single digits the UTV starts fine and when you depress the accelerator to go forward or reverse the throttle sticks wide open and all you can do is turn it off. you cant shift it out of gear to neutral. Once the temp warms up the problem goes away. Very Very dangerous. I hit a fence post because of this. This should be recalled...please forward this to your product safety department
Response: We have received no further reports of this happening. If water has entered the cable it is likely the cause of the trouble. Removing the cable and spraying [REDACTED] down the housing may clear the moisture and prevent future freezing trouble. We would recommend having the machine examined by an authorized service center to prevent future trouble with the throttle control cable.
Customer By Email ([REDACTED]) 01/29/2013 04:27 PM The cable is not damaged at all I suspect the way the cable is designed, it allow moisture to collect and then freezes however you can depress the accelerator which feels normal but the throttle sticks wide open, I cant tell you how dangerous this is. Have you sent this problem to Legal? Secondly I noticed the part number has changed 3 X for this cable and the latest one is $100 more than the previous one what is that all about? I am not satisfied with your response as it is just a blow off statement. You can’t say I didn’t warn you when someone gets killed over this. [REDACTED]
