The product, in the report: UTV side by side

Caller stated that the side by side UTV parking brakes is not holding, it keeps rolling and the manufacturer is unwilling to cover the repair under warranty. He stated that they advised that he would have to pay to have them break down the unit to see if there is a defect which is very expensive.

Caller feels that this is a safety hazard and the manufacturer should cover this issue under the warranty.

The product, in the report: Kubota XG850

I have a 2022 Kubota XG850 sidekick. The engine puts gas in the oil. Kubota refuses to admit publicly they have a problem. If you research internet groups you will see this is widespread. I feel like this machine is unsafe by the amount of gas getting into the crankcase. My machine is on its 5th oil change in about 90 hrs. I sent 1 sample off to a lab it was about 4% gas at 12 hrs. The 1 I wish I would have sent Im guessing was 20 %. at30-40 hrs total machine time and its second oil change for breakin purposes. The oil flowed out when drained like water and smelled of gas. Kubota has taken my machine in and cant find a defect. The rep from Kubota told me on the phone mine has the updated engine and it should not be doing this. Well it is and I am waiting nor a catastrophic failure of the machine because gas explodes. The only explanation they gave me is that I am not operating the machine correctly. I am 55 years old and have operated a lot of machines. This is an unsafe machine with gas in the oil. Please look into this there are many people having these unsafe machines. I cant even take my grandkids on it without fear of an explosion. Feel free to call me

The product, in the report: Kubota 2 seat utility vehicle Model RTV500

Winter 2017: When it gets cold (around freezing temperature), the gas pedal stops working. In some instances, he could be driving the utility vehicle and ease up off the gas. The vehicle may slow down a bit, but it would continue to move forward. The consumer has to press the brake really hard and has to use the emergency brake a recent instances.

Essentially, the gas line cable freezes. The consumer experienced the freezing of the gas cable every Winter.

Back in either the Winter of 2017 or 2018, the consumer reported the problem of the frozen gas pedal to the dealer, but they did not offer to any assistance.

(2/18/2021) The consumer called the dealer (Tel: 910-296-0777) again and spoke with a rep. (name unavailable). Their rep. said they had not received any reports on his vehicle. The consumer also spoke with their dealer’s Parts Department. The consumer requested a new accelerator cable, but their rep. said that the vehicle was out of warranty and they did not have prior reports, so he would have to purchase parts and pay for shipping. They also have some type of “goodwill program”, where the consumer could take the vehicle to them and they would examine it. However, that would be a 5 hour drive for the consumer.

The dealer’s salesman (name unavailable) wrote down a serial number: 50589, on the consumer’s sales receipt. However, when the consumer called the dealer on 2/18/2021, and their rep. (name unknown) told him his correct Serial Number was: 45027, and they had not received reports of any problems with his serial.

Once the consumer receives this report, he will double check.
