No one hurt Made Aug 20, 2026, sent to the company Oct 14, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 28, 2026
The product, in the report: 2025 CFMOTO ZFORCE 800 trail
recreational off-highway vehicle/side-by-side I purchased a new 2025 CFMOTO ZFORCE 800 Trail from Myers Motorsports in Kane, Pennsylvania, on May 22, 2025. The dealership assembled the vehicle before delivering it to me. The VIN is [REDACTED].
On August 18, 2026, the vehicle caught fire on a public road near railroad tracks, approximately five miles from my residence. It had approximately 500 miles on it. The fire department responded and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was completely destroyed, leaving primarily the frame.
During the incident, extremely hot pink liquid entered or sprayed into the passenger cabin and burned through my sons shirt. Fortunately, he did not have redness or a visible injury. I believe the pink liquid may have been coolant or antifreeze, but the exact origin and cause of the fire have not yet been independently determined.
I notified Myers Motorsports about the incident. I was told that because I did not have insurance or an extended warranty, the dealership could not do anything. I am reporting this incident because a low-mileage vehicle was destroyed by fire and a passenger was exposed to hot liquid that burned through his clothing. The fire department has an incident record, and the burned vehicle and damaged shirt are being preserved as evidence.

The product, in the report: 2025 CFMOTO ZForce 800 Trail UTV
While operating my 2025 CFMOTO ZForce 800 Trail, highly pressurized hot pink engine coolant suddenly ruptured and sprayed out from the center console between the seats. The fluid immediately ignited against hot internal components, causing a catastrophic vehicle fire. The Salamanca NY Fire Department responded to extinguish the blaze.

First aid Made Aug 6, 2025, sent to the company Aug 11, 2025, published by CPSC Aug 25, 2025
The product, in the report: 2025 CFMOTO U10 highland UTV
While using the 2025 CFMOTO U10 1000 Highland for normal recreational purposes, I accessed the rear cargo bed shortly after driving.I smelled something burning, Upon lifting the rear bedliner,The Exhaust was so hot and almost on fire. I unintentionally made contact with plastic components that had melted due to excessive heat from the exhaust system located underneath.
The heat generated in that area is high enough to cause nearby plastic components to deform and melt, exposing users to a serious burn hazard. I sustained a burn to my hand as a direct result of this defect.
There appear to be no adequate heat shields or thermal barriers in place to prevent this issue, nor are there any visible warnings alerting users of high-temperature components under the bed. This is a design flaw that poses a serious safety risk to consumers and should be addressed immediately. Especially that consumers travel with extra fuel and propane tanks for the BBQ that could of exploded if the heat and fire wouldn’t of been identified
Safety Concerns:
Burn hazard to users accessing the rear bed
Potential fire hazard due to melting plastic and proximity to exhaust heat
And possible explosion if carrying flammable.
I.e extra fuel, bbq w/ propane tank.
Absence of protective shielding or manufacturer warnings
Possible recurrence if design is not corrected across all 2025 UForce Highland models
Action Requested:
Immediate investigation into the product design
A recall or mandatory service fix to correct the exhaust heat issue
Consideration of replacement or refund for affected vehicle
Publication of a CPSC safety alert if warranted
Additionally a heat shield to be placed under the bed protecting against heat.
I am requesting that the Consumer Product Safety Commission investigate this matter and take appropriate action to prevent further injuries or incidents.
Thank you for your time and attention to this report.

The product, in the report: Cfmoto uforce 800xl. 4 seat UTV
Brand new cfmoto 800 XL was sitting in my driveway. The new machine, 2.4 hrs and 5 days after purchase, came out of park and rolled down driveway and collided with the back of a [REDACTED] damaging the rear hatch. The hatch cannot be opened due to the severity of damage. Contacted early cycle center in harrisonburg ,VA where I bought the machine. They picked up the machine, found the shift linkage out of adjustment and adjusted the park brake. While there they stated they found 3 other machines that would fail to stay in the park position. Our salesman [REDACTED] stated he would contact the company cfmoto and start paperwork to notify that an issue was found on our machine and multiple others. After my homeowners denied the claim due to default in a warrantied machine I contacted the dealer. They stated they did not file paperwork, did not contact cfmoto, and did not record our machine being there for a major defect. I’m not happy with how this was and continues to be handled due to the unsafe machines that are not checked over, and damage to a vehicle that I’m liable for now.

No one hurt Made Apr 20, 2024, sent to the company Apr 24, 2024, published by CPSC May 8, 2024
The product, in the report: As stated the side by side vehicle is a CFMOTO 950 Sport gen 2 2023 model. It did not come with a hand parking/emergency brake and CFMOTO added one as a courtesy. The rear right caliper failed and leaked fluid. That drained the brake fluid resivoir and since the resivoir is only one compartment it drained all the fluid resulting in no front or rear brakes. It appear even the 4 seater model is the same setup because the same thing happend to someone else I saw on a [REDACTED] Group!
2023 CFMOTO 950 Sport Gen 2 Side by Side had the right rear caliper blow a seal and leak brake fluid. The brake fluid resivoir has only one compartment and the fluid drained the resivoir which resulted in Zero Brakes and I wasn’t able to stop at a stop sign and went into a well traveled road! Thankfully no cars were coming by at the time!

The product, in the report: 2023 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 Sport Gen 2. Various colors. It’s a UTV all terrain Side By Side 2 seater Off Road Vehicle.
2023 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 Gen 2 UTV SXS doesn’t have an emergency hand brake. Not only is it unsafe not to have a backup breaking system the vehicle gets stuck in park without this brake if you park on an incline and you could get stranded if you are alone in the middle of nowhere! Vehicle has to be moved forward or backwards physically to get it out of park!. CFmotor is aware I believe and has them on 2024 models and I think older models. I know of one person who has a 2023 and has one too. They need to recall the ones that don’t have an Emergency Hand Brake and install one!

No one hurt Made Oct 24, 2023, sent to the company Nov 8, 2023, published by CPSC Nov 24, 2023
The product, in the report: UTV
(10/19/2023) The consumer has a safety concern because there is a defect in the safety latch. The unit has netting instead of doors. The latch that holds the netting in place on the driver’s side failed as he was getting out of the UTV. When he pushed the button, nothing happened. This is the first time that this happened. Also, the latch on the passenger side is starting to fail.
The consumer contacted the place of purchase to get a new latch. He was advised that the latches are on backorder because there have been many latches to fail.
The consumer then contacted the US importer and was advised to contact the dealer, which he had already done.
The consumer stated that the product should be recalled because they are unsafe.

The product, in the report: CF Moto 800 zforce ex UTV side by side, new 2023. Manual cable shifting lever
2023 Cf Moto 800 side by side known common issue. Will not shift in to park sometimes. Dealers say this is normal and common and they can not adjust the shift cable any better than they already have because of the design. It can be a very dangerous situation on any slope or when loading on a trailer etc. Machine can roll forward or backward. Has happened to me many times since I bought it new. Took to dealer for breakin adjustment was told it’s as good as it can be and I’d have to just play with it till you can make it go in to park. Said it’s a bad design limited physically on adjustments. No injuries involved but have had close calls loading when it has slipped out of park and is rolling on trailer

No one hurt Made Jan 1, 2023, sent to the company Jan 5, 2023, published by CPSC Jan 20, 2023
The product, in the report: Cfmoto all terrain vehicle, utility vehicle
Many Cfmoto brand Uforce, Cforce and Zforce vehicles have a flaw in the parking mechanism that can allow the machine to roll away unexpectedly and crash. Here are a few links to the issue.
[REDACTED]
My particular machine has not had park operating at all since the day I brought it home from the dealership. If you spend some time searching the internet, [REDACTED] and forums, the problem is worldwide with the CFmoto transmissions. The dealership has had a prt ordered for many months. The part is on “backorder”. The dealership has been great as far as trying to remedy the issue. The issue is not the dealership, it is the product itself and the fact that there are so many affected models. I couldn’t speculate the number nationwide, or world wide but it’s a very large number. Picture this, you take your family out for a ride with a group. Just say the group of 10 are all riding CFMOTO. You stop on the trail and put the transmission in park and get out to enjoy the scenery. The machine rolls away due to the weak parking pawl mechanism and smashes into the group of cfmoto’s further down the trail killing someone or maiming them. Then more of them roll away down the trail after being smashed into by the first one, because they too have the weak parking pawl. And if cfmoto says that the parking brake is the solution, then I urge you to investigate thier many many parking brake and service brake issues found accross the US as well.

The product, in the report: 2013 UFORCE 800 UTV
I was driving my UTV (2013 UFORCE 800) this morning. As I was approaching my garage at about 4 MPH, the front drivers wheel fell off, causing the Steering to lock up and a sudden stop. The UTV is equipped to be driven on or off highway. If this would have happened at 65 MPH on the highway it could have been fatal. When I took the UTV into service, I was advised by the tech he had never seen anything like this before. The wheel assembly is held together with one nut, and there is no safety pin or any other device to keep the nut from falling off causing the wheel to fall off. When researching this, this is not the first time this has happened to a CFMOTO product. They are a death trap. I also have a 2013 CFMOTO ZFORCE 600 that has had safety issues including throttle sticking wide open and loss of brakes due to a nut vibrating loose. They need to be regulated, especially since they are legal in many states to operate on the highway.

No one hurt Made Mar 13, 2013, sent to the company Apr 3, 2013, published by CPSC Apr 17, 2013
The product, in the report: UTV Off Road vehicle
The caller stated that after riding his UTV approximately 7 times and having 120 miles on it, it started leaking brake fluids and the trottle (gas pedal) sticks wide open. This incident has ocurred 4 times. Also, that the seats are ripping apart.
3/13/13 The dealer was contacted and he was informed that he could not be refunded his money. The manufacturer was not contacted as yet.
UPDATE: On the driver’s side with the seat taken off you can see more open space. The point of the seats taken off is to show you that even though the seats are on the snow and mud get in the utv from the wind turbulence that it gets on the throttle cable, people, wind shield, on top of fuel tank opening to be able to get dirt and snow in your gas and the passengers eyes. And the brake fluid keeps lowering, that should not be!!!!! That is another safety hazard. This machine had four different antifreeze leaks, that is far from normaL Also the gages quit working. The roll cage was loose. Fenders hardware was missing, it would not shift out of gear at all after dropped it off at our house. I had to be in the gear you plan on using before starting to use it. One of the pictures that will be attached shows the throttle cable stuck, what will be not sent is the videos that show so much snow that turned to water that froze the cable. This machine was brought to them more than three times. I have two documents. Sometimes repairs done by the person that delivers the machine to and from service area. So no work order was made up. One person said are service department sucked, one person said you are getting a much lower cost of a machine. I called the main in MN. They said cable would be replaced, shop said no because there was nothing wrong with cable. I clearly stated it will be fine in a warm shop, where the temperature is above freezing, more than once. So now I have to wait another period of time for the machine. It was also called an inherited problem. And being told we had an abnormal winter. And as far as the weather, what is normal?
