Hurt, care not known Made May 13, 2015, sent to the company May 21, 2015, published by CPSC Jun 5, 2015
The product, in the report: Bennche 2014 700 Model
I purchased a Beeche 2014 Bighorn 700 model #1700 EPS- in January 2015 and have had serious issues with this UTV since that time. The unit registers high temperatures on the interior engine schrouding. After driving the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes the following listed is the temperature faherhite on four locations. Beginning at the front of the schroud and four in the rear. 1- 118 up to 120 2- 144 up to 161 3-125 up to 172 4-168 up to 175
In addition the rear of the bed where you would place items or rest your arm when backing up the temperature registered at 185 degrees. I did burn my right arm when I was backing up. Needless to say, the heat in the cabin becomes very uncomfortable. To date, the dealer and mfg. have indicated this is normal. The second safety concern is the parking brake. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealer five times to have it adjusted. After applying the brake 15 to 20 times the brake stops functioning. The vehicle will continue to roll front and reverse. When parking on a hill I normally place rocks under the wheels. I feel like the vehicle could run over me when getting out to place rocks under the wheels if not very very cautious. I believe the brake should hold the vehicle on a small incline. This is a very dangerous issue and I fear someone is going to eventually get seriously injured if not corrected.
