  1. No one hurt

Made Mar 3, 2021, sent to the company Apr 5, 2021, published by CPSC Apr 19, 2021

The product, in the report: Artic Cat- Wild Cat Trail 2 seat Utility Vehicle Model VIN: [REDACTED]

3/2/2021: The consumer was driving the UTV with his wife and child and his wife noticed an odd odor. When they stopped, they both, walked around the side and looked at the rear of the UTV. It appeared that melted plastic was running down the back of the UTV. This appeared to be identical to the problem in [REDACTED].

The consumer checked the UTV and he saw that the radiator fluid was fine and he filled it with gas, the day prior.

3/3/2021: The consumer called the dealer and reported the problem to their rep. ([REDACTED]- a Store Manager). [REDACTED] told the consumer to bring in the UTV and he would speak with his General Manager in the Service Department and the 3 of them would get together.

The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and he spoke with [REDACTED] (the Service Mgr). [REDACTED] began to mention what the warranty may or may not cover.

2019: There was a problem with the UTV and the consumer had to drive in reverse to get the vehicle home. He took it back to the dealer and they replaced the clutch unit, as there was a problem with the fly-wheel, which prevent one from shifting the vehicle and it became stuck in reverse. There was not charge for the repair. The consumer also asked the dealer to do a full service on it, to see if it needed anything and they agreed to do so.

2020: The consumer experienced the same exact problem with the clutch, as he tried to remove it from his shed. He called the dealer and told them about the problem. Their rep. told him that parts were not currently available and to wait for a while. The consumer waited for months, but the parts never arrived. Finally, he asked if he could leave the vehicle there, until the parts came and they agreed (approx. 11/2020).

The service manager indicated that the filter may be clogged. The consumer asked them to open it up. They agreed, but the filter was not clogged. However, the service rep. said it appeared that someone had been working in that area. The consumer pointed out that they were the only ones who had worked on the vehicle.

The consumer is concerned that the vehicle may have been repaired, because the exact same problem that is stated in [REDACTED], happened to him. Furthermore, the dealer’s technicians worked on this vehicle several times and obviously, did not resolve all of the problems with it.

3/3/2021: The consumer called the manufacturer and filed a grievance with them regarding the problems he has experienced with this vehicle.

Please note: After filing with you, I called Bas Pro Shop to speak with the manager. I was placed on hold for 20 minutes and hung up on this happened two more times - of 5 minutes and two minutes then they picked up the phone then hung up on me tw0 times without a word. I called on another line and they answered and again put me on hold. My brother was witness to this
