  1. First aid

The product, in the report: The product is called UWheels - it’s a Hoverboard. It’s red and black and contains blue tooth and lights. Here’s the description from their website: • Get up to 15 mile travel range on just one charge • 36 Volt 4.4A Samsung Lithium long-lasting battery • 700 watts of power • Fully charged in just 2 hours • Maximum Speed up to 9.3 mph • Up to 265 lbs maximum load • Lightweight frame weighing just 24 lbs • Bluetooth Speaker System that easily connects to your smartphone UWHEELS are outfitted with high-quality gyro-tech computer sensors that are able to recognize weight differentiation. This state of the art technology helps the rider keep their balance and provides an easy and safe rider experience.

I purchased a Uwheels hover board for my husband in late October - he received it three weeks later even though they charged my credit card the minute I ordered it.

The product is totally inferior. It started with a simple problem where the plastic covers popped off and could not be replaced. Soon the problems became much more serious The Battery charger melted and was smoldering nearly starting a fire in my garage. If you go to their Facebook page you’ll see that many people have had the same experience with their inferior battery packs.

Third the product is unsafe. We have another hover board from a different manufacturer that is not at all like this one. With the other one when the battery is getting low it beeps and blinks and tells you the battery is getting low. It also simple slows down until it finally stops - a safe approach. The Uwheels on the other hand provides no warning. It simply goes from full speed to STOP! My husband was riding on it and it came to an abrupt halt! He was thrown off the product and sprained his wrist.

Fourth, I have been trying to return the product to no avail. I submitted a ticket and they simply closed it out with no resolution. I have called both of their retail offices and nobody picks up the phone. I also called the VP Sales - no returned call there either.

This company needs to be STOPPED! They are manufacturing UNSAFE products that will create fires AND hurt riders!
