Emergency room Made Dec 11, 2017, sent to the company Mar 15, 2018, published by CPSC Mar 30, 2018
The product, in the report: Ninebot by Segway miniPRO, model N3M260 2 wheel motorized transport, with off road tires and a handle bar
I purchased a Ninebot by Segway miniPRO from a company called More4Mini. I ordered it with off road tires and a handlebar. When it arrived, we put the handle bar on it and road it a little then took it to the shop to charge it. That evening I rode it all over in the shop with no issues. The next morning, I completed the tutorial on my phone application and took off on our dead end street to ride it from one house to the next. I got about 150 feet down the road and one of the tires locked up. The Segway twisted and threw me down the asphalt. I had bruises on my knee, butt, and arm, as well as road rash up my arm. I also hit my head on the asphalt. I ended up losing conscientiousness and had to go to the emergency room. Thankfully I didn’t have a concussion, nor any broken bones. My knee was swollen for a couple weeks and the doctor said I tore something in my shoulder. I did get in contact with the More4Mini place and was told the Segway wheel should not have locked up on me. I am waiting to get all my medical bills in to present them to the company to see if they will pay them or not.
