The product, in the report: MotoTec 1600w Dirt Electric Skateboard DUAL MOTOR

    Text of Submitter’s e-mail message dated September 29, 2015:

Subject: Formal complaint / recall required MotoTec 1600w Dirt Electric Skateboard DUAL MOTOR

I’m lucky to be alive writing this. Through walmart, I purchased the MotoTec 1600w Dirt Electric Skateboard DUAL MOTOR. After my 10th ride or so, I was riding down the street going 15/18 mph. I accidentally touched the top of the controller and hit the speed button. The wheels instantly locked up. You can imagine what happened next. I barrel rolled down the asphalt about 40ft. I have scrapes and road rash and internal bruises all over. I am an adventurous person and also an engineer. I know that these types of remotes need to have a failsafe in case buttons are accidentally or intentionally pressed. It should absolutely not lock up the wheels if I press ANY button. It needs to disable all buttons while the board is in motion. This is the worst safety oversight I have ever seen in a product. I am 35 years old. I cringe when I think of a kid using this, accidentally (or even intentionally) pressing a button and then possibly getting hit by a car. I very strongly urge you to stop selling and distributing this until this problem is fixed. You also need to notify those that have purchased it of this problem. This needs to happen immediately. Go ahead and test one, but if mine did it, others will do it too.
