The product, in the report: Diamond Children’s Baseball T-Ball Batting Tee Trainer with Rubber Baseball on Elastic Stretch Cord 21” to 35” Adjustable Strike Zone Helps Develop Batting Skills and Eye-Hand Coordination Rubber baseball with Elastic Stretch Cord Attachable Rotating Hitting Zone Flexible Brush Top Tee Ball Support

We purchased a diamond brand baseball training tee. This model has a soft ball attached to the tee with an elastic cord so the ball returns after being hit. After setting it up I went to demonstrate to my 7 year old how it is used. I swung the bat hitting the ball..when the ball came back, the cord went over my wrist while in the air and the elastic cord burned a line that goes halfway around my right wrist on the thumb side. I took pictures of this right after it happened if those will be helpful. I also notified Diamond to make them aware of what happened but have yet to hear back from them. I have since removed this cord from the product before letting my child use it. I could just imagine if that cord came back grazing his face as he was standing beside me. Parents should be aware of this danger!

The product, in the report: Diamond DFM- Pro Ultra-lite Face Mask Silver/Black) Purchased on Amazon during fall 2014. order number #112-6569039-7312224 Model #: iX3-PRO

I was using the diamond sports catcher facemask in an amateur adult baseball league game. The pitches in this league are typically 70-75 mph. I suffered a concussion when I was struck in the mask with a foul tip. The impact jarred my jaw closed in a violent way, leading to a concussion as diagnosed by an MD.

A week following the incident, I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, which impacts a nerve channel in one side of your face. The nerve channel begins in your ear, which is where I noticed most of the pain since the concussion has been. Since July 18, I have had pain on the right side of my head around temple, jaw, and cheek bone area as aftermath of this incident. I also have had difficulty moving the right side of my face, as a result of the Bell’s Palsy.
