To whom it may concern,
My son [Redatced] had an accident yesterday at [Redacted] with a 18inch bicycle bough at academy because a defect on the bicycle. The handle bar and the fork, all the suddenly, got loose out of alignment while he was riding after hitting a small imperfection on the road. Luckily he is doing ok, he only suffered scratches on his hands, and knees and some pain in his leg and the the scare. I was following him with my bicycle and saw the accident close. I noticed that he did not do anything improper before the accident. He just lost control because the wheel turned 45 degrees. After inspecting the bicycle realized that the reason of the accident was the bicycle failure. I had inspected and air and clean the bicycle before we begun our ride and did not see any issue with the fork and bar. I believe this is a unexpected issue with the bicycle a defect of manufacture or ensemble. I bough the bicycle already assembled at academy. I have not taken the bicycle apart ,if you want to inspect the bicycle. I have not researched yet, if there is a recall for this issue on this bicycle, but I will be doing it. I will not be using this bicycle until it get it repair or replaced. My goal is to make you aware of this issue and hopefully save some other kids from an accident of this type. Luckily my son suffered minor injuries, but This could had easily resulted in more Serious injuries. Please advice on where I can get this bicycle repair , inspected or replaced. Also plz advice where can I report this issue or maybe you could report it for me. The bicycle has being used only about 15 times and still in brand new condition. It is store in the garage for the most part.
