Hurt, no treatment Made Aug 7, 2017, sent to the company Aug 18, 2017, published by CPSC Sep 1, 2017
The product, in the report: Topeak Babyseat II Child carrier. The product is a bike seat for children to ride along with parents, attached behind them.
My husband and I purchased a Topeak Babyseat II with rack (ART No: TCS 2205) from Performance Bike earlier this summer to carry our two year old daughter to/from work. We’ve used this seat for fewer than 10 times and it failed on us this past Saturday, August 5. While my husband and daughter were out on a ride, the strap that fastens the seat to the frame/seatpost to adjust recline snapped, causing the seat to jolt back.
This is really unacceptable and unsafe for a product that is relatively new.
