Hurt, no treatment Made Aug 15, 2016, sent to the company Aug 23, 2016, published by CPSC Sep 26, 2016
The product, in the report: Sunlite Child Carrier
My husband was riding his bike with the Sunlite Child Carrier w/Steel Rack on his bike. We followed the instructions and according to them the seat was properly installed and secure. The only thing keeping the seat on is one bolt/screw with a tamper resistant child lock on it. My husband had just stopped at a stop sign and pushed forward on the peddle to start moving and the one screw holding the seat on came loose and the entire seat (with my 2 year old son inside) slid right off the rack flipped over twice before stopping. My son was wearing a helmet and other than a few scratches and being shaken up he was fine. But if my husband was going faster or my son did not have a helmet on, the damage could have been much worse.
