Emergency room Made Jun 18, 2023, sent to the company Jun 22, 2023, published by CPSC Jul 7, 2023
The product, in the report: Smith Trace MIPS - size MD 55-59CM - 280g - color: Matte Cinder Haze - Product Id: E007283K45155
I was bicycling with another rider who fell in front of me when he hit some gravel on the side of the road. I went over the top of him landing on my side and shoulder hitting the front left side of my helmet on the pavement. The helmet, a Smith Trace, purchased in March 2023, absorbed the impact but the edge of the thin plastic MIPS system positioned almost flush with the edge of the helmet was pushed into my forehead leaving a 1.5 inch gash that required stitches.
