Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: https://www.royalbabyglobal.com/products/royalbaby-bmx-freestyle-pedal-brake-kids-bike-for-boys-and-girls-12-14-16-18-inch-blue?variant=31793353425036 Royal Baby Model Royalbaby BMX Freestyle 20 inch, Blue Royalbaby BMX Freestyle Pedal Brake Kids Bike for Boys 20 inch,Blue This bike is also sold in big box stores like [REDACTED]. Hence the safety concern given their wide reach in America.

My kid suffered injury when riding the 20 inch bike inside our gated apartment complex area. He just applied the brake as usual when riding at medium speed and bike got bricked(stuck) and fell hard around small rocks. The front wheel was completely deformed and got stuck. Kid fell and injured. I suspect potential manufacturing or design defect in this product which makes it unsafe for kids to use. There were also recalls around the same time on these bikes from other part of the world including Australia: [REDACTED]

He has been an expert bike rider and was wearing helmet when this accident occurred. Fortunately this accident did not happen on the shared bike lane with vehicles which would have been serious. This was a brand new bike bought in Oct, 2020. Accident occurred in Nov 2020. I have preserved this bike post-accident in as-is condition for any further investigations.
