Emergency room Made Jan 14, 2023, sent to the company Jan 19, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 9, 2023
The product, in the report: It’s called “mips” it’s a thin sharp piece of plastic that lines bike helmets. I got a $300 + lazer z1 helmet that had this on it. (at that price I would think it should be the top of the line design for bike helmets)
I got seriously injured from the MIPs system in my helmet. I got rear ended by a truck at a red light. when my head bounced off of the hood of the truck. the mips system dug into my skin. while the helmet moved down my face from my sweat the mips system sliced a quarter of the skin off my face. making me have to get stitches right next to my eye. leaving me with permanent scaring to my face in a couple places.
