The product, in the report: The Ecoforce 1 is a single speed bamboo road bike with a reversible rear hub that easily converts it to a fixed-gear bicycle or fixie. The bamboo frame is very stiff yet still provides a smoother ride than steel or other alloys. This affordable bamboo bike is super light: the frame weighs less than 4 pounds thanks to bamboo and our recycled 6061 aluminum lugs. The entire bamboo bicycle only weighs about 20 pounds. Comes in 3 colors and 4 sizes (scroll down for details). Ride it like you grew it! Want one? Find your local dealer here. Dear Consumer Product Safety Commission,
I am writing to report a serious safety issue with the Greenstar Bike Model Ecoforce, sold by Greenstar Bikes. The bicycles frameset is primarily bonded using epoxy adhesive (will fail sooner or later) with little mechanical interlocking mechanism, which presents a critical design flaw.
Earlier this month, while riding the bicycle under normal conditions, the frameset suddenly failed and collapsed. As a result, I was thrown from the bike and sustained bodily injuries, including cuts and lacerations.
Additional product information is available at the manufacturers website: [REDACTED] .
I am able to provide photographic evidence of the damage and medical documentation of my injuries upon request.
Sincerely, [REDACTED]
