The product, in the report: Peaty’s Fidlock Lockin Magnetic Bike Water Bottle & Mount, Topo/Clear, 600 ml/ 20 oz. (Water bottle for bicycles and other equipment that it will fit on). Says made in Italy on the bottom of bottle without any serial number/SKU/etc. If it is there, it is too small for my eyes to see. Better info may be found on the Fidlock.us site. Note: The main company is based out of Germany. Additionally, this bottle was not used for Down Hill mountain biking purposes and only used on my cross country bike and XC trails, which should not have had any impact on the product lid/mouth piece failed and deterioration.
I noticed feeling something in my throat when drinking out of my Peaty’s Fidlock Lockin Magnetic Bike Water Bottle, Topo/Clear, 600 ml/ 20 oz. that mounts to my mountain bike while riding. It was purchased in April 2025 from Amazon. I only hand washed it and never put into a dishwasher as recommended and never crashed or dropped the bottle or its lid. In fact, the lid base, bottle and fidlock fastening device that is attached to the bottle are in perfect condition still after almost 1 yr of use. However, the grit I felt in my throat while swallowing the water from the bottle was not dirt that I thought might have got on the lid when I swallowed, but instead, was actual pieces of black plastic from the lid mouth piece. I realized this when I got home to rinse it out and noticed several small chunks of plastic at the bottom of the bottle. Thus, I was clearly ingesting plastic from the failed plastic lid. I immediately stopped using the product but kept it as it was for safe keeping to prove the fault to anyone at a later time. I also took pictures of the everything as proof to send to whomever needs them to take action and get this product out of the hands of consumers immediately.
