The product, in the report: Cleary Meerkat 24
My child’s bicycle, purchased August 2022, a cleary meerkat 24 brakes failed to stop the bike. According to specs on the cleary website the bike should have [REDACTED] brand hydraulic disc brake sets. However due to “supply chain issues” the bicycle arrived with hydraulic brake sets marked with the word “radius”. These brakes are not safe, after less than 150 miles of use, always stored indoors, they will not hold pressure enough to stop the bike. While y an adult can pump the brakes a few times to bring it up to pressure, to stop the brakes before the brake lever hits the handlebars, this pressure fades in less than 20 seconds, and child is unlikely to know to pump the brake levers. This bike is marketed for children as young as 7 years old to use, touting the quality of the brakes in the marketing material. There are multiple reports in [REDACTED] channels about the lack of quality of these brakes which are also being equipped on [REDACTED] (for adults), and [REDACTED] (for chilren) branded bikes. Any bike with these brakes are unsafe and should be recalled
