No incident, no one hurt Made Jul 30, 2025, sent to the company Aug 12, 2025, published by CPSC Sep 3, 2025
The product, in the report: Here is one example: https://www.canyon.com/en-us/road-bikes/endurance-bikes/endurace/cfr/endurace-cfr-axs/3714.html Here is the full list of affected products: https://www.dtswiss.com/en/recall/affected-bikes
I bought a bike from canyon.com. Many of their bikes ship with wheels made by DT Swiss, and this manufacturer issued a stop-use notice on July 12 and then a full recall on July 29 for many of their products. Most Canyon bikes seem to be affected and they keep selling those even though users can’t use them without risk of severe injury or death. When contacted Canyon makes customers follow-up directly with their supplier, a process that will take months (per the supplier’s website) and renders Canyon bikes unusable for that period.
Update 8/7/2025: I am writing to address a deficiency in my report regarding the description of risk of harm. Canyon Bicycles is currently selling bikes with wheels that are part of a safety recall; if a customer purchases one they can become aware of the issue and not be able to use the product at all until Canyon’s supplier resolved the issue, or if for whatever reason they do ride the bike they risk death. The issue lies in the potential delamination of their carbon wheels, basically the wheel can loose structural integrity at any time, more information about the issue can be found here: https://www.dtswiss.com/en/recallhttps://www.dtswiss.com/en/recall
Again, the issue is that Canyon Bicycles continues to sell bikes with defective wheels without telling users about the recall in advance.
