The product, in the report: Emotion Neo Cross EN703 bike SR Suntour NEX 012 Series Model #4610 front fork

I purchased a new Emotion Neo Cross EN703 bike from a local dealer a few days before the accident. I was traveling downhill on a paved road a short distance from my house, going about 25 mph. I travel this road nearly every day by bike, so I am quite familiar with it. The road has a series of speed bumps, and I had traversed the first two of them without difficulty. The last I remember of the accident was approaching the third. I woke up being loaded into an ambulance. The EMT’s said the front wheel had separated from the bike. I was admitted to the hospital with a concussion, multiple abrasions, a damaged mouth, and a nose that will require plastic surgery.

On examining the bike wreckage I determined that one of the dropouts on the front fork had fractured, allowing the wheel to separate. The fork is an SR Suntour NEX 012 Series Model #4610. I note that this same model fork has been recently recalled by Trek and Scott bikes for the same kind of failure.
