The product, in the report: Back Trails Bike Punp
The attached image is of a back trails bike pump that I was using to blow up the tire of a wheelbarrow in my backyard yesterday afternoon.
On the “upstroke”, the plunger portion of the pump detached from the main shaft. On the down stroke, two fingers on my left hand were impaled on the sharp metal rim of the now exposed pump shaft.
You will note in the attached image that the retaining screw that appears to be placed to prevent the two parts of the pump from coming apart is still in place.
An ER visit was required for a tetanus shot, 2 stitches over my left hand middle finger knuckle and 7 stiches to cover the ligament and knuckle on my left hand index finger.
