The product, in the report: traithlon handle bar that is standard equipment for the Cervelo P2 (2012)
The 2012 Cervelo P2 triathlon bike is equipped with a 3T Auro Pro Handlebar. Today while training on the Washington & Old Dominion trail (fully paved) I hit a minor hole at approxomately 20 mph and in an instant, the arm rest fell completely off, the screws holding it in placed sheared off. Luckily I managed to control the bike and come to a halt and retrieved the arm rest that fell to the ground. Upon my return home I looked into this problem and noticed that the shearing of the screw tops was a common incident both here in the US and oversas. I sent an e-mail to 3T but after reviewing the othe incidents doubt I will get a response. Since the handlebars are made in Taiwan I suspect that the screws are sub par and jolt could cause the screw tops to shear off.
