Hurt, care not known Made May 23, 2022, sent to the company May 25, 2022, published by CPSC Jun 17, 2022
The product, in the report: Blue fitbit versa 3
My report is two-fold. I have been using my FitBit Versa 3 consistently and always receive rashes on my wrist so I constantly have to change the arm I wear my watch. But today I am on vacation and started snorkeling. Right away it started buzzing without stop and when I looked down I saw the watch face had dislodged from the clock body so I immediately removed it and stopped swimming. I was worried about safety hazard also if water somehow entered the battery while I was wearing it.

The product, in the report: Fitbit Versa is a smart watch.
My Fitbit versa has done something to my wrist. It looks like a burn with white skin around the burn. It does not itch but it is red in the center with white around. Hopefully I can post a picture with this report.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Jun 5, 2019, sent to the company Jun 21, 2019, published by CPSC Jul 16, 2019
The product, in the report: Fitness tracker watch; Fitbit versa
Sustained periodic electrical burns on wrist and forearm from Fitbit versa. Back of Fitbit versa watch has 4 gold contacts on the back of the watch. These 4 gold contacts (small circles) align with 4 pins on the charging cable that the fitbit versa is cradled in when it is in the charging dock charging. Over the course of several months, I had what would start out as a small red blister and then would get larger, swollen, etc. Blisters would sometimes be warm to the touch and would burn and sting. Whole forearm became so swollen at one point my styloid process on my right ulna (which is normally visible- I have small wrists) could not be seen. Never used product in water. Would always take it off to shower. Would take it off and put it back on throughout the day, probably worn for 80% of a 24 hour period. Would wear it while exercising. While exercising I would notice a pulsating sensation deep in my forearm that felt like it would “travel” up forearm to bicep area and spread around wrist. I can’t help but wonder if the combination 4 gold contacts on the back of the fitbit watch along with the voltage of this larger fitbit and my body sweat was enough to conduct small waves of electricity and leave small burns on skin. Blisters would not heal and became difficult to move wrist for day to day activities. Removed watch from forearm for 72 straight hours (5/26/19-5/29/19) and started to feel relief from symptoms. Smaller blisters started to heal and larger blilsters did not get worse and swelling of forearm started to decrease. Returned watch to third party distributor I purchased it from on 5/29/19. Employee asked for the reason for my return. I explained the blisters on my forearm and showed the employee my still healing arm. The employee wrote down the report in the system, asked to take a picture of my arm to show her supervisor and stated she would send a report to Fitbit about the product’s safety.
