The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Fitbit Ionic blue gray band

While laying on my bed next to my 5 month old infant, not engaged in any physical activity or sweating, my Fitbit Ionic burned my left wrist in a single circular pattern. The size of circular injury was about 2-4mm across. The burn occured around 3pm on June 29. I’ve been wearing this device for a year and 2 months. I never experienced rash or redness or any discomfort before. I emailed product support and included pictures of my injury. On Monday, I received an email saying they would issue a full refund. I was asked to send my device into them, and they provided a shipping label. I have monitored the injury as it heals.

The product, in the report: Fitbit ionic

I received an ionic for Christmas. About a month ago started with wrist pain, then the pain moved to my shoulder. It’s like a horrible arthritic pain, enough to stop using your limbs. I went to doctor, then an ortho specialist. Couldn’t find anything and suggested I remove my watch to see and gave me anti inflammatory meds and prednisone which have not helped. A week ago switched my ionic to my other wrist, low and behold pain is now on the other side as well! I’ve cleaned it, I’ve loosened it as it states in care, but still the same. I’ve now stopped wearing it completely. Let’s see if the pain goes away. This is crazy that a watch can cause such horrible pain. I’ve noticed that there are many people experiencing the sane pain.
