The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Fossil Smartwatch - step counter plus watch Model# FTW1136

My son wore his Fossil Q smart watch in the shower yesterday and when he got out of the shower, he called me to say he had an itchy rash where thevwatch had been. I told him to wash the area with soap and water in case it was just an irritant (he has had ski reactions in the past. When I got home from work he showed me and it was clear to me that this looked more like a chemical burn like the [REDACTED] bands gave some people.

He went to University Health Services and they said it did look like a chemical burn, but wouldn’t require special treatment beyond Calamine Lotion and OTC painkillers.

I did notify Fossil and Amazon.com.
