This is the Grand Trunk Ultralight Hammock.

I owned two of these and both claim a 2 year warranty. Both state can be used for weights up to 250 pounds. I am 130 pounds. March 18, 2011, one of the hammocks split right down the middle as I was lounging in it, and dropped me to the ground. The company offered to replace it only if I paid to ship it back to them. The item was only $16 to begin with, so I didn’t bother. They assured me that wasn’t a common issue and apologized.

However, yesterday, May 30, 2011, the second hammock I owned from them did the exact same thing. It split down the middle, dropping me to the ground. This could prove to be extremely dangerous if someone was hanging above rocky ground. Thankfully, I was only suspended above the dirt. If this happened in less than 10 months to both hammocks that I owned, I have to assume it’s happened to others who maybe haven’t reported it. This is a safety issue that needs to be looked into. Thank you.
