Emergency room Made May 7, 2024, sent to the company May 9, 2024, published by CPSC May 23, 2024
The product, in the report: Anyoo Garden Cotton Hammock. Purchased through Amazon on 11-26-2021. Order# [REDACTED]
Sitting in hammock as a 180 pound individual. Hammock strap ripped in half and dropped me to the concrete below. I was sitting in a hammock I purchased on Amazon 2 1/2 years prior. The hammock is used only occasionally and stored 6 months out of each year. I was sitting in the hammock with my feet in front of me, not rocking. The hammock suddenly collapsed to the concrete below when the strap broke in half. My 180 pounds went straight down 2 1/2 feet to the concrete pad below. This resulted in severe pain and I could not get up. Emergency room results showed I experienced a moderately acute compression fracture of my spine at L2 position. This was caused by the drop straight down on my but.
