The product, in the report: Magna Excitor boys 24” mountain bike

We purchased a Magna Excitor boys 24” bike for our son from Target on 4/9/2012. On the third day the rear brakes completely released and broke. We called the store and they were willing to return, so we exchanged for a different one. We were hoping that we just had gotten a lemon. Unfortunately that was not the case. Less then a month later, the chain fell off, which we put back on ourselves. Then on 5/24/2012, our son was riding the bike when the pedal completely just fell off. We were very glad that he was not hurt badly, as he was not riding very fast at the time. Upon further examination of the pedal one can see that the threads were bent and it was probably never completely attached, because there is no way it would screw in the whole way. I called the store and they did take the bike back. We did not try another! I did go onto Target’s website to check the reviews. This bike had the lowest rating possible. Most of the reviews cited the same issues we had. Brakes releasing, chain falling off, and worst of all the pedal falling off. There were some reviews that stated how I feel, this bike is a safety hazard, especially with children and should not be sold!
