On 7/10/2015 I noticed a squeaking noise on my 2014 Enduro Comp 29er mountain bike. I was on a relaxing ride around the neighborhood with my son at the time. I couldn’t pinpoint the noise, but wasn’t too concerned about it, thinking it was just a bearing in the suspension beginning to go out. The next day I went trail riding in nearby [REDACTED] with my friend. The bike still squeaked and again, I didn’t think much of it. After about 4 miles on the trail, I went over a few rollers standing up. When I sat down on the saddle, I heard a loud “snap!” and the saddle flipped up, hit me in the groin and then my butt dropped down to the tire. The KS Dropper Seat Post had snapped from a stress fracture near the top of the post. Just below where the mount for the saddle is. I was lucky. Had I been riding more aggressively, I could have been seriously injured or even impaled by the post.
