The product, in the report: ozark trail tent
The consumer says that this product is unsafe. The poles contain fiberglass, and when they are bent, they can break and shatter. This causes small fiberglass shards to embed in the user’s hands, and these cannot be removed with tweezers.
The individual who reported the incident sustained fiberglass splinters in their hands for days, which make him more mad and painful. He attempted to return the product to Walmart; however, the store could not process the return because the receipt was lost. Although Walmart sells replacement parts, , the individual did not pay with a credit card and is seeking a full refund of $109.
The individual is requesting that the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) investigate this product due to the risk of injury to other consumers.

The product, in the report: Ozark Sun Tent
I purchased an Ozark Sun Tent in store, at Margate FL location.
On the third use of this tent my daughter and I got fine clear plastic shards in our hands, as we pulled the poles out. The pain and shards in our skin lasted 5 days.
With the use of warm water and soap they eventually dissolved or fell out.
I have the tent and poles for your inspection and review.
I am asking for this product to be improved so others are not injured. The poles are not safe.
I went to the store to show them the poles and receipt so the faulty product could be examined. They said they won’t do anything because the warranty period is over. I never asked for a refund or compensation.
I spoke to [REDACTED] at online customer service on July 11 2025 and provided my email and phone number. No one got back to me.
Today I spoke to [REDACTED] at WM ethics 1 800 925-6278 and provided my email and phone number . He stated he would forward the information to Walmart’s appropriate team.
I am requesting that action be taken to prevent injury to other customers.
I have the original receipt and photos, as well as the actual poles.
I will be expecting a callback or email from Walmart outlining next steps to rectify this issue.

The product, in the report: Ozark trail 8 person glamping tent. Ran in color. 9.5 ft tall, 15 ft diameter.
Tent collapsed on us while camping with 2 of my small children and me and my husband in it! Not rated for wind! Horrible ventilation......like an oven! Dangerous pull cord stability strin right in front of the door could cause head and neck issues. You can barely see it! But my daughter got traumatized and went into shock from it. She’s 10! She’s now terrified to camp ever again.
