The product, in the report: Mark& Graham Popup Tent This is a popup beach tent sold by PotterybarnKids.
I previously reported this popup beach tent made by Mark and Graham a subsidiary of PotteryBarn/Williams& Sonoma about 6 weeks ago. I never received any email with the company’s response, presumably because they did not respond to you which is unbelievable. I am complaining again about the safety of this product due to continued events of being struck by the metal rods in the product and the nearly impossible task of closing it. I was struck in the chest in late June when I attempted to close it. While I wanted to return it, I had family visiting in July and had bought the beach tent for that purpose. My 37 year old daughter and 42 year old son-in-law attempted to close the tent when we took it to the beach in July when they visited. My daughter was hit in the head by one of the tent’s rods and my son-in-law was hit in the lower leg. They spent more than half an hour trying to close and could not. They finally watched a video on [REDACTED] for another product by a different company and with much effort finally closed after about 45 minutes. In my previous report/complaint, I explained that I had been similarily hit by the rod and I was unable to close it and had to take it to a Pottery Barn store. The Manager was unable to close it after trying for 30 minutes; she had a man come over from Williams Sonoma in the mall and the two of them could not close it. The man finally located a [REDACTED] video of another product unrelated to Pottery Barn and the two finally closed it after about one hour. The product is too large (long) and is impossible to close. It should not be sold. It can hurt people during the process of attempting to close it. I initially did not return it as I thought my son-in-law would be able to manage it better than I and they were visiting in July. He couldn’t manage it either. I tried to return it at this point, but Potterybarn refused, saying it was past the 30 day return window.
