Emergency room Made Mar 23, 2026, sent to the company Mar 26, 2026, published by CPSC Apr 9, 2026
The product, in the report: Acedeck Stella S3 Breeze Pro Electric Longboard. It is an electric motorized skateboard used for personal transportation. It features a deck with grip tape, four wheels, underneath battery/motor enclosures, and is controlled via a wireless handheld remote.
On August 7, 2025, an unmodified, factory-new Acedeck Stella S3 Breeze Pro electric longboard (Serial No. DH005-03-00022) experienced a sudden, uncontrollable acceleration without much rider input. The product was being used by a highly experienced rider for an initial test ride on a clear, dry road. The rider was wearing appropriate safety equipment, including a helmet.
While traveling, the board’s firmware malfunctioned, causing a violent surge in speed to over 30 mph. This erratic acceleration ejected the rider from the board with extreme force.
This incident resulted in severe, documented injuries, including a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and concussion, a bone-deep laceration to the right thumb, deep lacerations across the left arm and hand, and extensive road rash. The injuries required extensive emergency room treatment and ongoing neurological care.
Shortly after this incident, the manufacturer issued a formal recall for this exact model and serial number batch (36 units), explicitly acknowledging a dangerous firmware defect that causes erratic and uncontrollable acceleration. I am reporting this because despite acknowledging the defect that caused these catastrophic injuries, the overseas manufacturer and their active physical US distribution hub ([REDACTED]) are actively evading liability and ignoring formal legal communications.
