The product, in the report: Glion Dolly Scooter, Black
Jumped on the Glion Dolly today and started out as usual. Put a little extra pressure pulling back on the handlebars at full speed to avoid a bump. I hit the slight bump (crack in the road) The Folding Lock gave way and the scooter collapsed at full speed. I was sure the locking mechanism was in place when I left and I had gone roughly 600 yards before it gave way. The scooter was undamaged and snapped back into place, no other incidents for the five mile ride home from there. The “Step Down” on folding lever is a dangerous way to collapse these scooters and there should be a way to lock them in place or a safety pin or something. I think I am ok however I did land on my back and slammed my head pretty hard against the blacktop at full speed and I”m pretty stiff and rattled at the moment, a little road rash. At least I’m not dead. Not sure any other damage as of yet, I was propelled in the air a bit. at 57 years old maybe I shouldn’t be acting like a kid. In any case, this mechanism should NOT be considered safe without a safety lock or PIN to keep this thing from collapsing at speed. (DEATH TRAP). There was a witness to the accident... he came over to see if I was okay, we were both surprised I was alive and able to stand up.
