The product, in the report: OUTON Kick Scooter for Kids 3 Wheel Lean to Steer Adjustable Height PU ABEC-7 Flashing Wheels (Purple, Pink, Blue colors) Model Kick Scooter x2
I purchased an OUTON Kick Scooter from Amazon for my niece last year as a gift June 2019. I received word on June 2020 that while my niece was riding the scooter, a bolt from the wheel bin came off (causing the wheel to separate from the scooter) causing her to fall onto concrete and hurt herself badly! Her family is furious as this is a manufacturer caused issue! This scooter is for children and should have been made and designed properly to prevent injury! I looked on recent reviews on Amazon and other consumers are having similar product issues. There seems to be 13 similar reviews but that does not mean it has not happened more, this is just based on the reviews.
[REDACTED]
Other scooters are recalled for potential fall and major injury hazard and this should be too! I have been trying to work with Amazon. I believe their product safety people are investigating it and the product has been removed from their site. However, I believe other consumers should be notified of the potential hazard for their children! There appears to be 1 remaining type of OUTON scooter being sold on Amazon.
I contacted the seller, OUTON at customerservice-ou@outlook.com but they have not acknowledged or replied.
There should be a recall notice so that Amazon is made to alert customers of the potential injury of children riding this scooter.
