The product, in the report: Brand Osprey Color Black Frame Material Aluminum, Alloy Steel Age Range (Description) Color: Black Product model name is Decoy. A maximum user weight of 100kg (220 LBS) Dimensions: L 96cm x H 92cm x W 47.5cm NOTICE: This model is the Decoy. Not to be confused with their variant Dirt model. The dirt model is more heavy duty but I do not know if the same (in my opinion) product defect-or engineering deficiency exists.
I was riding a ‘muscle’ manual kick scooter (Osprey Dirt) model. I average 14 miles a week and use it for a specialized exercise routine you can call it. A kick scooter (also referred to as a push-scooter or scooter) is a human-powered street-ground vehicle with a handlebar, deck, and wheels propelled by a rider pushing off the ground with their feet. NOTICE: It broke on me while jumping and clearing a standard sidewalk ridge at the edge of an asphalt street and I was at a 90 degree angle to the road. Luckily only a quarter sized scrape on my knee was scraped. This model scooter is supposed to be made for hilly and bumping riding so it should be able to take mini jumps that present itself when riding including juts in sidewalks and irregular roads that can be expected to be encountered while traveling. The manufactures site shows a rider up into the air to be landing hard onto the ground. @ https://www.ospreyactionsports.co.uk/osprey-dirt-scooter-gun-metal-grey.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwheyUBhD-ARIsAHJNM-OAGfNdvjzxqBZQdke2YH72idNwuRrhNcySbWG45GEyMhG-_4ZdfJ8aAgZgEALw_wcB . Luckily I only skinned my one knee about the size of a quarter.
The part that broke was: The downtube cleanly separated in a catastrophic sudden break just below the headtube. The two main parts of the scooter frame separated in two pieces. See picture. This part is not engineered properly to withstand all the operating forces put upon for an all-terrain vehicle, in a push-kick scooter use type-scope.
