The product, in the report: PRODUCT Electric Scooter for Adults, 28 Miles Long Range, 25 MPH Top Speed, 750W Powerful Motor, 9.3” Pneumatic Off-Road Tire Folding Commuting E Scooter with APP, Turn Signal
I purchased the above-referenced electric scooter in July 2025 through an Amazon Marketplace seller. Approximately two weeks after receiving the scooter, it stopped functioning. I contacted the seller regarding the issue.
The seller shipped a replacement control board and instructed me to install it. After installation, the scooter still did not function properly. No further repairs were attempted.
The scooter was then left unused and unplugged next to the house. It had not been operated or charged for approximately four months prior to the incident.
Description of Incident
On Sunday evening, while the scooter was sitting unplugged and not in use, it spontaneously caught fire.
The scooter was not charging at the time and had not been used for several months.
Due to the severity of the fire and concern for the safety of the residence, 911 was called. Firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Because of the lithium battery risk of reignition, firefighters buried the battery to prevent it from reigniting.
Additional Information The scooter was not plugged in at the time of ignition. The scooter had not been used in approximately four months. The fire originated from the scooter/battery area. Emergency services were required to prevent further damage and potential spread to the residence.
