First aid Made Mar 29, 2025, sent to the company Apr 2, 2025, published by CPSC Apr 16, 2025
The product, in the report: OKAI NEON Ultra ES40 eScooter; black; dimensions when expanded: LxWxH 46.3*22.6*48.4 in, dimensions when folded: LxWxH 46.3*22.6*21.1 in
OKAI ES40 scooter’s handlebar and stem folded while in use by an adult on a bike path in a public park. The malfunction was probably caused by a faulty folding mechanism that can unlock by itself when the scooter hits a bump in the path. During the subsequent fall from the scooter to the ground, suffered abrasions and lacerations (despite wearing “armored” pants with CE level 2 certified knee pads) as well as a sore bruised scapula.
