  1. No one hurt

Made Mar 22, 2026, sent to the company Mar 25, 2026, published by CPSC Apr 8, 2026

The product, in the report: AOVOPRO ES80 Electric Scooter 350W 10.5 Ah Long Range High Speed Foldable Electric Scooter

I am reporting a dangerous AOVOPRO ES80 electric scooter. During normal riding on a flat and relatively smooth street, the scooter bounced or jumped abnormally from the front wheel / motor area. The defect appears to be in the wheel connection where the motor is located. Because this scooter can reach about 19 mph, a failure in that area could cause a serious crash, severe injury, or death.

I also noticed chemical odors coming from the scooter during charging. Since the scooter contains lithium batteries, this raises a serious fire hazard concern, particularly if the battery or charging system does not comply with applicable U.S. safety standards.

The scooter also has [REDACTED]/app problems and other hardware issues, but the main reason for this report is the safety risk created by the front wheel / motor connection defect and the chemical smell during charging. No injury has happened yet, but the product appears unsafe.

The product, in the report: The product is Aovopro LP60-Electric Scooter that goes 19mph

I fell off a e-scooter on a safe flat terrain, going up a curb due to the defectiveness of the new scooter. Only had it for a few days(Aovopro- Electric Scooter LP60-19 mph from the TikTok shop). It abruptly stopped going up a flat curb(small- that merges the bike lane to a sidewalk). I was only going about 8mph and it stopped, causing me to fall on my hands and knees. I have been talking to the manufacturer and they keep giving me the run around, and taking hours-days to respond. I have showed them my injuries and have initiated a return/refund but I find that its not fair I have to pay for the shipment of a faulty item rather than just getting a reshipment of the same product or full reimbursement for my troubles.

  3. Emergency room

Made Apr 29, 2024, sent to the company May 1, 2024, published by CPSC May 15, 2024

The product, in the report: Aovopro Electric Scooter - 8.5” Solid Tires, 350W Motor, Up to 19 miles long-range and 19 MPH Portable Foldable Commuting Scooter with Double Braking System and App, Black

I purchased an Aovopro Electric Scooter on 1/13/2024. On 4/26/2024 the METAL handle snapped completely in half while my 17yo 135-lb son was riding it going approximately 16-18 mph. It completely flipped him over causing him to ride the concrete on his face breaking his 2 front adult teeth and giving him several lacerations. He spent one day in the hospital and an entire day was spent at an emergency dentist. This $300 scooter has cost me $17,000+ already!!!!!! I found several other reviews with the scooter breaking in the same exact spot. This scooter should be recalled.

  4. Emergency room

Made Oct 10, 2023, sent to the company Oct 18, 2023, published by CPSC Nov 1, 2023

The product, in the report: Electric powered, adult scooter

10/4/2023: The consumer’s 12 year-old, 186 lbs, 67” tall, son was riding the scooter down their street. The son was on the scooter for approximately 2 minutes, when the front fork that holds the front wheel in place, snapped. The wheel stayed attached to the scooter, but the bolt that supports the wheel/fork, broke. A plastic portion of the fork is bent. The son was riding approximately 3 miles per hour at the time of the accident.

The scooter is rated for 264 lbs., and can travel up to 20 miles per hours.. The scooter has never distributed any problems in the past. The consumer’s children have only ridden the scooter on the paved street, in front of their home. The scooter came fully assembled, ready to use.

The consumer immediately took him to a nearby hospital, but the first hospital transferred the son to a children’s hospital, which was an hour away.

The son sustained lacerations to the chin and fractures to both the right & left side of the jaw, as well as fractures to both his left & right wrist. The son was kept at the hospital for 15 hours, while they searched for a surgeon. After locating a surgeon, it was determined that it’s best to wait and see if the child will heal on his own. The son was administered antibiotics and released the same day.

The consumer tried to call the firm, but was frequently told that no one was available. She tried calling during the hours they were open on Hong Kong time, but still could not speak with anyone. She was told that someone would get back in touch with her, but no one has.

She also looked up some of the reviews on-line and saw numerous other incidents, but they were not as severe as her incident.

She contacted the dealer and they offered a complete refund, but the consumer noted that she has 2 extensive hospital bills and her focus is also to warn other people about the hazard with this scooter.
