The product, in the report: Description: This product is a set of wooden toy vehicles intended for children. The toy set is constructed of wood with a painted/pigmented finish. Product Name: Montessori Toys for 1 Year Old Boy, Toddler Toys 1-2, First Birthday Gifts for Boys, Dinosaur Themed Toy Vehicle Set Material: Wood with painted surface. Usage: Toy vehicle set for children. Observed Issue: The paint/pigment coating on the surface of the wooden cars is not stable and dissolves easily upon contact with moisture (saliva/water). This allows the chemical pigments to separate from the wooden surface and pose an ingestion hazard to children. The product is marketed as a durable toy, but the finish fails to maintain integrity during normal handling by a child, resulting in potential toxic exposure.
On April 26, 2026, I purchased a Montessori Toys for 1 Year Old Boy, Toddler Toys 1-2, First Birthday Gifts for Boys, Dinosaur Themed Toy Vehicle Set from Amazon. During the product’s first use, my infant child (13 months old) was playing with the toy. Upon minimal contact with saliva, the paint/pigment coating on the toy dissolved instantly. My infant ingested the dissolved chemical pigments, and the pigment also transferred to our play mat.
This product, which is intended for children, presents a severe and immediate chemical ingestion hazard because the paint is unstable and not child-safe. As a parent, I am deeply concerned about the potential toxicity of the substances my child ingested. I have video evidence documenting that the pigment easily separates from the toy upon contact with moisture.
