The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Thunder Tumbler Radio Control 360 Rally Car

My son received this as a gift for his 5th birthday. While putting a [REDACTED] 9V battery in the remote control (it was new & right out of the box), which is what it required, the remote control started sparking and smoking! Dangerous toy!! I’m so glad my son wasn’t the one putting the battery in! I saw that someone else had the same complaint and the manufacturer tried to say this was improper battery installation. I can assure you it was not. It was a 9V alkaline battery entered with proper polarity and obviously not mixed with other types of batteries as it just took one battery. My husband is a mechanic and we are intelligent enough to know how to properly install a battery in a child’s toy. I also read several Amazon reviews stating people have issues with parts flying off when using it. This toy should be recalled until these things can be corrected before someone gets hurt.
