  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Sep 21, 2026, sent to the company Sep 24, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 8, 2026

The product, in the report: Name- HELLOWOOD Wooden Ice Cream Truck, 28 pcs Magnetic Ice Cream Sweet Treats Pretend Play Food & Accessories, Montessori Sorting & Stacking Toys for Toddler Girls & Boys Age 2-5 Size child-size Item Dimensions 9.45 x 5.91 x 4.53 inches Item Weight 2 pounds

I am reporting a potentially dangerous defect involving a HELLOWOOD Wooden Ice Cream Truck magnetic wooden ice cream pretend-play toy purchased from Amazon. Product information-

Brand- HELLOWOOD Product- Wooden Ice Cream Truck magnetic wooden ice cream pretend-play set Amazon ASIN- B09X329HJK Amazon listing Approximate date of purchase- May or June 2026 Approximate duration of use before failure- 3 months Intended user- Toddler, young child Incident description- After approximately three months of ordinary use, one of the tiny magnets embedded in a wooden ice cream scoop came out of the wooden component. These magnets are used to allow the toy ice cream scoops to connect to one another.

The detached magnet is extremely small and presents a potential ingestion hazard for a toddler. We discovered the detached magnet before we knew whether our child had been exposed to or potentially swallowed it. Because the magnet was embedded inside a wooden toy component and became loose during normal use, we are concerned that other magnets in the set may also become detached.

There was no known ingestion or injury at the time we discovered the defect. However, the detached magnet could easily have been placed in a toddler’s mouth and swallowed before an adult noticed that it had separated from the toy.

We have stopped allowing our child to use the toy. I actually had previously cut off the small ball on the end of the pull rope to the car portion as well because it looked like it could potentially pop off and become a choking hazard.

I am requesting that CPSC investigate this product for magnet retention and child-safety compliance and determine whether other units of this product may present the same hazard.

    I can provide photographs of

The wooden scoop from which the magnet detached The detached magnet The complete toy/set The product packaging and identifying information, if needed. I am retaining the defective toy and detached magnet as evidence unless instructed otherwise
