Emergency room Made Jun 26, 2026, sent to the company Jun 30, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 15, 2026
The product, in the report: Step2 Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table purchased new through Amazon and delivered on June 25, 2026. The outdoor plastic water play table is designed for toddlers and young children and includes accessories such as buckets with detachable plastic handles, a water tower, spinners, ramps, and other water play features. The incident involved one of the plastic bucket handles that detached from the bucket during normal use.
We purchased a Step2 Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table through Amazon, and it was delivered on June 25, 2026. At approximately 8:00 p.m. that same day, during our childs first time using the product, one of the plastic bucket handles detached from the bucket during normal play. Our young child picked up the detached handle and placed it in her mouth. The handle became lodged in her throat, creating a choking emergency. We immediately sought medical attention and took our child to the emergency room for evaluation and treatment. We are extremely concerned that the bucket handle can detach so easily, creating a serious choking hazard for young children. We have retained the product and the detached handle and can provide photographs and proof of purchase if requested.

Hurt, no treatment Made May 19, 2026, sent to the company May 21, 2026, published by CPSC Jun 5, 2026
The product, in the report: Step2, Rainshowers and Unicorn water table. It is purple table with blue legs, unicorn toys and other water toys. It is 39x24x32 inches
My toddler was playing with the Step2 Rain Showers & Unicorns Water Table when she accidentally suctioned her lips and chin into one of the toy holder slots on the table, while trying to sip water out of it. The opening is about the size of a quarter. The suction became strong enough that she could not remove herself or call out for help. I was standing nearby and was able to free her immediately. If I had not been close or if the water table had been completely full, this situation could have become extremely dangerous because she may not have been able to breathe properly let alone call for help. The incident caused visible bruising to her chin and lips, and her bottom lip became dark purple from the suction pressure. Photos were taken after the incident. I am reporting this because I believe the toy holder design may pose a suction/suffocation hazard for curios toddlers and young children.
